One of the topics that I want to develop as a future journalist is the feminism because is a subject that has been poorly treated in Chile. In the secondary that I used to attend we never spoke about the subject and the same happens in the majority of the universities, luckily I study in a public university where every topic can be discussed and even have its own course.
For example, now Im taking a course called "Non-Sexist Communication: Body, Media and Image".
The professor that dictates the course is Cristián Cabello, every Monday at 4 pm and it's the class that I liked the most since I started my journalism's studies.
The course talks about feminism, society, social structures, femicide and heteronormative conducts, among other interesting topics.
The teacher recommended us really good texts and in the classes we see very interesting videos.
For most of the evaluations we need to redact a text about some topic: opinion columns, book reviews, autobiographical essays, etc.
I feel that since I took the course I've learned a lot and it has changed my way of think and see the world.
One of the things that I appreciate of this subject is that teach me and compels me to conveyed the knowledge of the course to other people, especially women and I think that this it's the most important thing to learn: to transmit knowledge.
Since we stopped the classes in ICEI in protest of the poorly condition of education in Chile this is definitely the subject I miss the most.
I think that it's so important generate awareness about the feminist cause, especially when we see every day people that dont understand and confuses their principles.
ResponderBorrarI love so much you mind! I think that the feminism is stronger every day, see you!
